Budget Passes -Thank You to the Community!
West Genesee
residents approved the 2015-2016 budget and bus proposition on May 19, 2015.
Thank you to all Stonehedge parents who made phone calls and worked the
polls.
A second
proposition to purchase district vehicles was also approved. Thank you to the
community for your continued support!
Other
propositions that would provide funding for three area libraries (Maxwell,
Fairmount and Onondaga) were put to a vote and approved.
Board of
Education Candidates are Elected
Elected to
the Board of Education for three-year terms beginning in July, are incumbents
Kimberly Sacco and Vladmiro Hart-Zavoli. New to the Board is Joseph
Simon.
Teams Spruce
up Stonehedge on Buddy Day
For our
final "buddy day" of the school year, older students paired
with their younger buddies and cleaned up the school grounds and planted
flowers. They learned about litter and keeping the the school and the Earth
clean. Thanks to our PTA for providing gloves for all of our students. And
thank you to our Shared Decision Making Team for organizing the buddy days
throughout the year!
It's Field Trip Time
Spring brings with it a great opportunity for learning outside of the classroom. Special field trips, many sponsored by our PTA, have already taken place or will take place soon. Our kindergarten and first grade students went to see an educational documentary about Toque
Macaques monkeys.
Our second grade went to LeMoyne College yesterday to see a play called Elephant and Piggie's "We are in a Play!" adapted by the author Mo Willems.
Please have a safe and fun extended Memorial Day weekend. Remember there is no school on Friday, May 22 or Monday, May 25.
